MapWorks Tulsa, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with a diverse board of directors.
MapWorks Tulsa seeks to enhance the lives of Tulsa residents and visitors by illuminating Tulsa’s diverse districts and serve as an introduction to the city’s spirit and energy while fostering unity, inclusion and identity through an ambitious map design, an art lens and community outreach.
The Tulsa Map® is a free folded paper map with an online presence, tulsamap.org – an ambitious project designed through an artistic lens to showcase the various districts, local businesses, and landmarks that make our city unique. The Tulsa Map® is accessible to visitors, residents, and educational institutions highlighting the rich diversity of Tulsa and the advantages it brings to our community.
We believe Tulsa has something unique to offer. No map like this currently exists in Tulsa. In an age where all of us have navigation tools readily available, we believe a map can be something more. Rather than serving as a GPS, this map is designed to spark conversation and inspire citizens and visitors to experience Tulsa’s vibrant personality and cultural diversity by highlighting our local businesses, districts and rich history.
The Tulsa Map® is available in key locations throughout our city. Follow our social media @mapworkstulsa | @tulsamap, for location announcements. The map front is a unique art rendition of the City of Tulsa, and the back displays districts highlighting featured LOCAL businesses, venues, and historical landmarks.
Changes to The Tulsa Map® will be updated every two years by a regional artist chosen by MapWorks Tulsa’s artist selection committee.

Through our social media presence we seek to educate and engage the public about maps and their educational components.
We aim to inspire our citizens and visitors alike to investigate the rich history and cultural diversity of our community by showcasing our citizens, districts, and the character of Tulsa.

We are excited to begin our next phase of implementing an innovative MapWorks Tulsa Compass outreach program for Tulsa youth on the benefits of mapping while also appreciating the geography, diversity, culture and history of Tulsa. Coinciding with our mission of fostering unity, inclusion and identity, The Tulsa Map® will be used as a tool to strengthen connections between Tulsa residents and the places they share, as well as understanding the spaces between them.
